Well well well, what do you know... we are into 5 months of 2013 and the mid-year school holidays are upon us once again. Apparently it couldn't come any faster for Ash and Ayd though, who are literally counting down the days before they get to wake up late for 4 whole weeks.
Okay me too actually.
But with holidays comes brain-racking moments of agony too because let's face it - it ain't exactly easy trying to keep our kids occupied during the school holidays too. And so, here is my June School Holidays 2013 list of activities for the most precious buggers in our lives - our Kids. Hope that you will find it useful!

Fun at Imbiah Lookout
This year, Storytelling Comes Alive! takes on a broader form, bringing you a kaleidoscope of presentation styles. Besides engaging kids with the popular Playmobil through three new interesting stories and other Playmobil activities, expect to be awed by the different types of performances ranging from dance musical to puppetry to cultural face changing performances installed for them. Fans of Playmobil can also play with the life-sized western themed Playmobil playsets that have yet to be launched in Asia!

Finding Dr H at Images of Singapore
Children can play little detectives as they help to find Dr H who has disappeared into the past. Along the way, they will get to sneak-a peek into Singapore’s past through time portals and keep proof of their time-travelling journey with augmented reality-enabled photos of themselves during the defining moments of Singapore’s history!

“FLIGHT OF FANCY” FLORAL DISPLAY

Zoolympix is back with a resounding bang in 2013! This time, each participant is transformed into a “Rescue Ranger” and gets to learn first-hand how habitat destruction and poaching are driving many animals to extinction. Leaping into its ninth year, Zoolympix will feature six exhibits in the zoo that will double up as interactive game stations. This series of challenging “rescue missions” will test young rangers’ memory, accuracy and agility. Frozen Tundra Chill-out (All weekends in June; various timings)
Singapore-born polar bear, Inuka is making a comeback this June and he’s got some new friends with him! Inuka’s new home at Singapore Zoo, called Frozen Tundra, will also showcase wolverines and raccoon dogs. As part of the celebrations for Singapore Zoo’s 40th anniversary, Inuka’s housecooling party will be an extended one for the entire month of June. Exciting activities such as guided walkthroughs, token feeding sessions, glitter art and ice sculpture demonstrations await.

Learn fascinating facts about this themed exhibit while taking in the icy cool ambience of Frozen Tundra. Join the Naked Hermit Crabs on a boardwalk tour at Chek Jawa, where you would be able to see animals such as fiddler crabs, spiders, mudskippers, tree-climbing crabs and monitor lizards. Finding Dr H at Images of Singapore
Children can play little detectives as they help to find Dr H who has disappeared into the past. Zoolympix is back with a resounding bang in 2013! This time, each participant is transformed into a “Rescue Ranger” and gets to learn first-hand how habitat destruction and poaching are driving many animals to extinction. Leaping into its ninth year, Zoolympix will feature six exhibits in the zoo that will double up as interactive game stations. This series of challenging “rescue missions” will test young rangers’ memory, accuracy and agility. Frozen Tundra Chill-out (All weekends in June; various timings)
Singapore-born polar bear, Inuka is making a comeback this June and he’s got some new friends with him! Inuka’s new home at Singapore Zoo, called Frozen Tundra, will also showcase wolverines and raccoon dogs. As part of the celebrations for Singapore Zoo’s 40th anniversary, Inuka’s housecooling party will be an extended one for the entire month of June. Exciting activities such as guided walkthroughs, token feeding sessions, glitter art and ice sculpture demonstrations await.

SAFRA Sprint Kids 2013

Sprint Kids 2013 is the biggest ever Kids Sprinting Event in Singapore. This event is open to all kids between the ages of 3 to 9 years. Pre-registration is required to select preferred Sprint Heats venue and timing. 8 sprinters from each competitive race category with the fastest timing will qualify for the Grand Finals on 30 June 2013.
